Jeff "Bear" Andrews is one of our most famous guests. By all account he is one of the most accomplished sportsmen and fly-fishers in the Midwest if not the U.S. Kwagama Lake Lodge is proud that Bear Andrews has chosen Kwagama as an annual trip destination for himself and his fly fishing guests.
A few of Bear's many accomplishments are:
Michigan native Jeff "Bear" Andrews has been fly fishing and tying flies for 40 years.
He is a recipient of the "Buz" Buszek Memorial Fly Tying Award, the highest honor bestowed upon a fly tier by the Federation of Fly Fishers.
He has tied commercially for 20 years, producing as many as 24,000 flies per year.
Bear travels throughout the United States and Europe sharing his tying skills through demonstrations and classes. He has taught thousands of people to tie flies.
Bear Andrews conducts Fly Tying Marathons raising money for the Federation of Fly Fishers conservation projects. Bear is well on his way to raising $100,000 for conservation.
His flies have appeared in numerous books and magazines and as limited edition artwork.
He has set two IGFA World Records for Brook Trout.
Bear has released many videos and DVD's on fly tying and fishing for Steelhead and trout .

This (Kwagama) has turned out to be a great little spot for Trophy Brookies. The average fish run between 15 and 18 inches with many fish over the 20-inch mark. We are fishing at the end of their season so these fish are as big as they are going to get and as colored up as they will be, before the season ends. Cost of this trip is modest and includes your flight in and out of Hawk Junction, lodging, and food. Licenses are available at the camp, or you can purchase them ahead of time..... I usually try to help arrange for folks to car pool up there as well. I have room for 24 people.
